NetSuite Implementation Cost (October 2026): By Size, Phase and Driver

NetSuite implementation costs $25K-$75K for small companies, $75K-$200K mid-market, $150K-$500K+ enterprise. What drives it, hidden costs, timelines.

A NetSuite implementation costs $25,000 to $75,000 for a small single-entity company, $75,000 to $200,000 for a mid-market company with integrations and custom workflows, and $150,000 to $500,000 or more for an enterprise OneWorld rollout. That is the one-time services fee, separate from the license. Oracle does not publish NetSuite prices; the figures here come from implementations we scoped and delivered between 2021 and 2026.

Where these numbers come from. BrokenRubik implements NetSuite; we do not resell licenses. The implementation figures on this page are our own project data. Where we mention license fees, those are figures our clients shared with us while we scoped their projects, not an Oracle price list. The full set, by segment and module, is in our NetSuite cost benchmark.

NetSuite implementation cost by company size

Company sizeTypical scopeImplementation fee (one-time)Annual license (client-reported)First year, all-inTimeline
Small business (5–20 users)Single entity, standard financials, basic CRM, few integrations$25,000–$75,000$24,000–$54,000$50,000–$120,0008–12 weeks
Mid-market (20–100 users)Multi-subsidiary, inventory, ecommerce, 3–5 integrations, custom workflows$75,000–$200,000$50,000–$150,000$100,000–$250,00012–16 weeks
Enterprise (100+ users, OneWorld)Manufacturing, advanced supply chain, global entities, heavy customization$150,000–$500,000+$200,000–$400,000+$350,000–$1,000,000+4–6 months or longer

Two patterns in that table are worth knowing before you budget.

Implementation does not scale at one fixed ratio to the license. The rule of thumb you will read everywhere, "budget 1–2x your annual license", holds in small business, where fixed project work (discovery, configuration, training, go-live support) dominates the bill. In mid-market the license grows faster than the project does, and the ratio lands at 0.67–1.0x. A mid-market company with a $120,000/year license should budget roughly $80,000–$120,000 for implementation, not $120,000–$240,000. For OneWorld rollouts we do not publish a single multiplier: the spread between two subsidiaries and twelve is too wide for a ratio to mean anything.

The implementation fee is only part of year one. Add the license, any integration work, and the internal time covered below.

What the phases cost

We do not publish a dollar figure per phase, because the split moves with every project: data migration can be a tenth of a QuickBooks migration and half of a legacy-ERP one. What we can say is where the time goes. A NetSuite implementation runs through six phases, and the implementation guide covers each one in detail:

PhaseDurationWhat you are paying for
Discovery and planning2–4 weeksStakeholder interviews, process mapping, requirements, gap analysis
Design2–4 weeksSolution design, chart of accounts, roles, data migration plan, integration specs
Build and configure3–8 weeksConfiguration, SuiteScript and workflows, integration builds, sample data loads
Testing (UAT)2–4 weeksTest scripts, end-to-end process validation, fixes, sign-off
Go-live1–2 weeksFinal data migration, cutover, hypercare
Post-launch4–12 weeksStabilization, first month-end close, report adjustments, extra training

Build and configure is the longest phase and the one most affected by complexity. A financials-only build can take three weeks; a multi-subsidiary setup with manufacturing, WMS and five integrations can take eight or more. Data migration sits across design, build and go-live and is the single most under-estimated line in most budgets.

What drives NetSuite implementation cost

Seven things move the number, roughly in the order they show up in our scoping calls:

  1. Number of legal entities and currencies. Each subsidiary adds its own configuration, intercompany setup and consolidation testing. This is what separates a mid-market quote from an enterprise one.
  2. Modules in scope. Financials-only is the floor. Advanced Inventory, Manufacturing, WMS and SuiteCommerce each add configuration, testing and training.
  3. Where your data comes from. Clean QuickBooks data migrates quickly. Fifteen years of spreadsheets, a legacy ERP with inconsistent records and three inventory systems that disagree can double the migration budget.
  4. Integrations. Each system connected to NetSuite adds build and test time. Pre-built connectors cost less to implement than custom API work; see the integration table below.
  5. Customization. Point-and-click configuration (custom fields, forms, saved searches, basic workflows) is included in the license and covers most needs. SuiteScript development for custom business logic typically adds $10,000 to $50,000 to a project.
  6. Training and change management. The number of roles, locations and shifts you have to train, and how far your processes change.
  7. Your team's availability. The number one cause of delayed implementations is internal resource availability. Delays cost money whether the contract is fixed-price or hourly.

To put a number on your own scope rather than a segment, the NetSuite implementation cost calculator asks about exactly these drivers (entities, tax jurisdictions, users, modules, transaction volume, data source) and returns the effort line by line in hours, plus a list of what the estimate does not cover.

Integration costs

Integration work is usually quoted separately from the core implementation and is often under-budgeted. These are the ranges we see per integration:

SystemComplexityTypical costApproach
Shopify / BigCommerceModerate$8K–$25KCeligo pre-built connector
Salesforce CRMModerate–High$15K–$40KCeligo or custom API
Amazon / eBay marketplacesModerate$10K–$20KCeligo or channel manager
3PL / warehouseHigh$15K–$40KEDI or API-based
Payment gatewaysLow–Moderate$5K–$15KSuiteApp or custom
Shipping carriers (FedEx, UPS)Low$3K–$8KSuiteApp
HRIS / payrollModerate$10K–$25KAPI or file-based

On top of the build, pre-built connectors carry their own subscription, typically $200–$1,000 per month per connection; an iPaaS platform such as Celigo or Boomi runs $1,000–$5,000+ per month but handles several integrations from one place.

Fixed fee vs time-and-materials

Both models are common, and the right one depends on how well defined your scope is.

Fixed fee gives you cost certainty. The partner carries the risk of under-estimating, which is why fixed quotes usually follow a paid discovery: nobody can price what they have not scoped. The downside is scope friction: anything not written down becomes a change order, and change orders are where cheap quotes grow into expensive projects.

Time-and-materials gives flexibility when requirements are still moving, but you carry the risk of the hours running past the estimate. A not-to-exceed cap narrows that risk and is worth asking for.

What we do: fixed-price discovery first, then a fixed price for the implementation itself, so the number you sign is the number you pay for the scope you agreed. For evolving requirements, time-and-materials with a cap is the honest alternative.

Whatever the model, compare quotes on scope, not on the bottom line. The cheapest implementation quote often becomes the most expensive project: consultants who underbid make it up in change orders or cut the corners (discovery, testing, training) that decide whether the system works.

Internal staff time: the cost that is not on any quote

Every implementation fee above covers the consultants' time. It does not cover yours, and your time is real money.

A NetSuite implementation needs a dedicated internal project manager, department leads available for discovery interviews and design decisions, finance and operations staff for user acceptance testing, and power users who get trained first and then train everyone else. UAT in particular is your team's work, not the consultants': every workflow, edge case and report has to be tested by the people who will use the system daily.

If your finance director is in year-end close during UAT, the timeline slips, and on a time-and-materials contract the slip has a price. Plan the project around your team's calendar, pick a go-live outside your busiest season, and budget the internal hours explicitly even if they never appear on an invoice.

Hidden implementation costs

These are the line items that do not appear in the initial proposal and show up during or after the project:

  • Data cleanup before migration. Deduplicating customers, standardizing items and filling required fields: $5,000–$20,000 depending on volume and quality. Cheaper before migration than after.
  • Change orders. Scope changes mid-project add 1–3 weeks each. A solid discovery phase is the cheapest way to avoid them.
  • Post-go-live support. Budget 10–15% of the implementation fee for the first 90 days after launch: issue triage, report adjustments, the first month-end close.
  • Ongoing training. New hires and process changes: $2,000–$5,000 per training cycle.
  • Sandbox environment. A standard sandbox runs $500–$1,000 per month unless your edition includes one. Ask before go-live, not after.
  • Custom script maintenance. Oracle's two annual releases can break SuiteScript that depends on undocumented behavior. Budget 10–15% of the original development cost per year.
  • Connector subscriptions. Every pre-built integration adds $200–$1,000 per month, for as long as it runs.

Individually small, collectively these can add 15–30% to the first-year number you planned for. The NetSuite pricing guide walks through each one with the licensing side of the budget.
