NetSuite 2026.2 Release Notes: Everything That Shipped

NetSuite 2026.2 is rolling out now. Oracle announced the release on July 15, 2026 and published the release notes. This is the complete picture of what is in it: every change by feature area, what breaks, when your account actually gets it, and where to go deep by role.

A note on sourcing. The feature detail below comes from Oracle's Release Preview release notes for 2026.2, which every page marks as subject to change. We have not paraphrased from marketing pages — where something comes from a different Oracle source, we say so. We will update this page if Oracle revises the notes.

When does your account get 2026.2?

There is no single global go-live date, which is why "when is 2026.2 released" has no clean answer. Oracle upgrades accounts on a staggered schedule. In Oracle's own words:

"The 2026.2 enhancements and changes listed in this document are not available until your account is upgraded to NetSuite 2026.2."

Your account's scheduled date appears in the New Release portlet on your NetSuite dashboard. That is the only date that matters for planning. Oracle pushes each release to sandbox accounts roughly 4 weeks ahead of production, which is your testing window.

The distinction almost everyone gets wrong

Oracle describes 2026.2 in two places, and they do not cover the same things:

• The release notes document the scheduled version upgrade. That is everything catalogued on this page — the changes that land when your account is upgraded.
• The Sneak Peek page additionally promotes Ask Oracle, NetSuite Next, the ADP Workforce Now connector, Outlook Premium, the Restaurant Operations SuiteApp, a healthcare dashboard, and new NetSuite Analytics Warehouse models. None of those appear in the 2026.2 release notes. SuiteApps and NetSuite Next ship on their own schedules, separate from the version upgrade.

So if you are planning an upgrade test, work from the release notes. If you are planning a roadmap conversation, the Sneak Peek is the wider picture. Confusing the two is how teams end up expecting a feature that is not in their upgrade.

What breaks: read this before you upgrade

Three changes in 2026.2 alter existing behaviour rather than adding to it. None of them throw an error, which is what makes them worth testing.

1. SuiteQL default sort order changed. Queries and Analytics datasets based on generic transactions now default to sorting by Transaction.tranDate instead of Transaction.tranDisplayName. Oracle made the change to prevent performance issues. Anything that specifies a sort order is unaffected; anything relying on the old implicit ordering returns rows in a different sequence. Add an explicit ORDER BY wherever order carries meaning.

2. Assembly components are no longer stored on hidden transaction lines. With Advanced Bill of Materials enabled, this applies across Cash Refund, Cash Sale, Sales-Type Custom Transaction, Credit Memo, Invoice, Deprecated Custom Transaction, Estimate, Opportunity, Revenue Commitment, Revenue Commitment Reversal, Authorization, and Sales Order. Scripts or saved searches reading those hidden lines will find nothing there.

3. Bank reconciliation submission is now automatic. Manual matches and cleared transactions submit for reconciliation without the separate step. Match and Submit replaces Match; Clear and Submit replaces Clear. Any documented process or training material describing the two-step flow is now wrong.

Two more that change defaults rather than break things: payment match suggestions are enabled by default for both accounts receivable and accounts payable (the AP side is new), and blank Bill Capture preference values now map to explicit ones — blank Save Tax As becomes No tax, blank Save Shipping Cost As becomes No shipping cost.

Authentication

• Passwordless Authentication with Passkeys — as of July 13, 2026, all users can set up a passkey and use it instead of a password to log in. Login only; a password is still needed for other actions.
• Passkey as a 2FA Authenticator — FIDO2-compliant passkeys can serve as the second factor. Administrators can disable it.
• End of Support for NLAuth Authentication for RESTlets in 2027.1
• End of Support for New Integrations Using TBA in 2027.1 — full TBA end of support tentatively 2028.1
• PKCE Required for OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code Grant Flow in 2027.1

What about SuiteCommerce?

Not in this release. The 2026.2 release notes state that the 2026.2 release of SuiteCommerce, SuiteCommerce MyAccount, and SuiteCommerce Advanced "will be available in a future release", and point to the 2026.1 notes as current. Pre-upgrade checklist

1. Find your date. New Release portlet on your dashboard. Everything else scheduled around it.
2. Request your Release Preview account as soon as it is offered. Run your month-end close, your top saved searches, and your critical workflows.
3. Test the three breaking changes above — SuiteQL ordering, hidden assembly component lines, and the reconciliation submission flow.
4. Audit your authentication. Not for 2026.2, for 2027.1: list every integration on NLAuth or TBA and get the OAuth 2.0 migration onto a roadmap.
5. Check defaults you did not choose. Payment match suggestions for AP are on by default, and blank Bill Capture preferences now resolve to explicit values.
6. Re-validate iPaaS flows — Celigo, Boomi, and anything else reading transaction lists in order.
